Ballaro Dance: Company Auditions on April 29
Ballaro Dance works with artists who value collaboration, curiosity, and community as much as they value craft. We seek professional-level dancers (age 21+) who are:
Thoughtful, creative, and deeply curious
Highly engaged in their communities and eager to contribute
Committed, present, and willing to do the work—both in and outside the studio
Open, investigative, and unafraid to ask questions
Generous collaborators with a growth mindset
Our movement lives in two interconnected spaces:
Expansive, rhythmic, musical dancing that travels fully through space
Gesture-driven, emotionally grounded storytelling rooted in human experience
For over a decade, Ballaro Dance has collaborated with movement artists, composers, filmmakers, visual artists, designers, and community partners. We create projects that unfold across multiple mediums: dance with live music, dance for camera, and performances crafted in dialogue with architectural and outdoor spaces. Each project brings many people into the room, forming a collective process as meaningful as the performance itself. Our work is community-centered, curiosity-driven, and fueled by a desire to understand the world through movement.
Our creative process is deeply collaborative and multidisciplinary. We work closely with artists across fields, creating sensory-rich, immersive environments where audiences are invited not just to watch, but to feel. We value emotional truth, physical rigor, and the ability to connect—to the work, to each other, and to the world around us.
