Rooted in the traditions of Graham/Taylor, Humphrey/Limón, Sokolow, and somatic-based approaches, this class blends breath, body mechanics, dynamic movement, and emotional expression. With a “practice as performance” and “classroom as lab” approach, dancers experiment, take risks, exchange feedback, and discover the joy of moving together.

A sensory-rich, somatic movement workshop that centers breath, sensation, and embodied awareness through improvisation; illuminated imagery is sensed through an engagement with lighted lanterns throughout the space. Guided navigation leads to the creation of mini movement studies, personal storytelling, connection, and reflection.

Gain an embodied understanding of movement for camera, hands- on experience collaborating with a professional filmmaker, and star in a fully edited dance film to keep and share. The experience fosters creativity, agency, and connection, and is tailored to the community’s goals, space, and schedule.

Explore individual and community identity as a catalyst for creation. Inspired by works from Trisha Brown and Urban Bush Women, this workshop uses reflection, improvisation, and gesture through a supportive, accessible, and choice-based process. Dancers will reflect, create, experiment, and share, building toward a communal dancing-making experience.

A guided community conversation sharing stories of perseverance: acheiving a goal, raising a family, recovering from illness, making art, changing careers, supporting a community. An authentic exchange that celebrates resilience, connection, and the many ways we go the distance. Workshop is discussion-based with facilitation; experience can include gesture exploration and introductory movement, if desired.

Explore camera-aware movement and photography techniques in an interactive lab-style program designed for dancers and creatives. Learn to capture images that showcase unique artistry, personality, and brand while connecting and collaborating with fellow artists. Receive professional printed and digital headshots and movement photos, fresh inspiration, and new creative connections. Program is facilitated with collaborating photographer.
