Episode 2 of the Embedded Memories mini docuseries focuses on Community Imprints, the tandem project of Embedded Memories.

Ballaro Dance invites community members, both dancers and non-dancers, to participate in a creative residency that parallels the creative process of the illuminated installation dance work. "MOVE: Community Imprints" explores scars and storytelling; the project culminates in a site-specific performance - like a living exhibit. Participants explore improvisational activities on storytelling, literal and abstract gestures, and personal memories. Participants are guided to create their own mini-dance about a personal story or memory of their choosing using a framework exploring the story and what occurred, the sense memory attached to it, and a reflection on the impact. It's a powerful component that reflects each unique community that collaborates with Ballaro Dance.
