MOVE:

The second Company value of Ballaro Dance is getting ourselves - and you! - to MOVE.

Whether a seasoned or first-time dancer, we welcome all people to MOVE with Ballaro Dance. We host weekly Community Classes, and pop-up workshops, sometimes taught with collaborators. Check out all upcoming opportunities to MOVE in various ways

SEE MOVE SHARE: a week-long Summer Intensive & Performance Project for dancers ages 17 through adult hosted on the SUNY Brockport campus by the Alumni Association.

Led by Founding Artistic Director Marisa f. Ballaro and Rehearsal Assistant/Company MOVER Hannah Dillenbeck, participants will have an opportunity to train in Modern Dance Technique and Pilates, engage in dialogue around various “hot topics” in the field, learn Ballaro Dance Repertory, develop new work in Creative Composition, and more. The residency culminates in an opportunity to perform with members of the Company in a formal dance concert in Hartwell Dance Theater on Saturday, August 19 showcasing dances learned and developed throughout the week. Join us for an inspiring week in Brockport with Ballaro Dance!

Our Mission:

Ballaro Dance builds community through the creation and presentation of modern dance while inviting its audience, often first-time dance viewers, to SEE, MOVE, & SHARE with the Company in an approachable, welcoming environment.

Our Identity:

We dance to engage with people; we choreograph to tell stories; we produce art to build community.
